The eastern part of the Achterhoek still has several peat bogs with rare raised bogs. There are several hiking trails that you can walk through the peat bogs (tip: bring boots or old shoes). Or, from our small nature campsite in the Achterhoek, take a nice bicycling or hiking tour around the Stone Quarry, where the varied soil structure of Winterswijk, one of the richest in The Netherlands, literally comes to the surface. You can visit the Stone Quarry at fixed times under supervision. From our vacation park in the Achterhoek, a visit to the Zwillbrocker Venn just across the border is also worthwhile. Every year in summer, wild flamingos can be spotted here! There is a beautiful hiking route through this area with various lookout points. Onze natuurcamping in Winterswijk ligt midden in Nationaal Landschap Winterswijk, met natuurgebieden als het Korenburgerveen, het Dottinkrade en de Bekendelle. Talloze wandel- en fietsroutes leiden je langs de mooiste plekjes in de streek. Daarna kom je heerlijk tot rust in een huisje of op een kampeerplek.

Wat is er te doen op de camping?

Op onze kleine natuurcamping in de Achterhoek is er genoeg te doen. Niet voor niets is Vreehorst beoordeeld met 4,5 sterren van de ANWB. De faciliteiten zijn van hoge kwaliteit en geschikt voor zowel jong als oud.
